What I'm Doing Now

Updated on 18 December, 2025.

Here's a snapshot of what I'm currently up to. This page is inspired by the /now page movement.

Reading

I finished "All The Pretty White Horses"! It was a fantastic read. Not nearly as dark as some of McCarthy's other works, but it was still plenty emotional. I am still working on my first Dostoyevsky, "Notes from The Underground"... Besides those, I have started "Paradise Lost". It seems to be quite highly acclaimed, so I'm excited to explore it. For what I have read so far, it seems sort of similar to "The Odyssey", but inspired by The Bible. I am also reading Macbeth for the first time with some friends.

Listening

I listened to Julia Holter's "Have You In My Wilderness" recently. Really quite good! She has a lovely voice and the production is rather impressive. "Bleeds" has still been on repeat. I adore the guitar work on that album.

General Learning

I'm in my final year of college, studying computer science. The current topics of study are distributed systems and computer networks. Fascinating stuff. Regarding languages, I am keeping up with my Korean. On the creative front, I'm writing more frequently. I have been doing some re-reading of cyberpunk fiction (Neuromancer, Snow Crash, etc) to help me ascertain the functionality of ICE, which is related to a programming project I am working on. I am studying for my General Class HAM license as well. I finished my finals a recently... I did well, but man am I zonked.

Thinking About

Recently, I have been mulling over ways to retructure my day in order to make time for my passions. I haven't been overly successful with partaking in my hobbies this season. I found a concept called "habit stacking", which I am going to try to use to become more consistent with my hobbies and general discipline.

Cyber

I came upon a concept that APTs use called HTML smuggling. Supposedly, if done correctly, the attack can be quite hard to detect. I have messed around with this a little bit. My personal lab is not as developed as I would like it to be. Currently, I am doing a wireless penetration test on my home network to test my capabilites. PSK capture has failed me thus far. This weekend I am going to try a Pixie attack.
